Infrared sauna therapy uses gentle infrared heat to warm the body directly rather than heating the air around you. This creates a deeply relaxing, detoxifying experience at lower temperatures than a traditional sauna.

Recommended session time is 30 minutes. All sauna session participants must have a client account with the studio.

About Your Infrared Session at My Mama Said

Please rinse off before your session for hygienic purposes. Do not use any lotions and skincare. These can block the sweat glands. Drink water before and after your session and avoid entering dehydrated before you start your session.

you will be given 45 minutes to use the room. Your session inside the sauna should be 30 minutes with time for you to relax and hydrate before and after your session.
Please wear swimwear, shorts or crop/tank tops. Strictly no underwear or nudity.
A bath-sized towel. If you do not bring one, you will be charged for one at reception. Please sit on your towel during the sauna session.

Drink plenty of water and take a cool shower if desired. Expect continual sweating for up to 30 minutes and rest if you feel tired.

Avoid using an infrared sauna if you:

Have a fever or active infection
Are dehydrated
Have been drinking alcohol or using recreational drugs
Have open wounds or recent acute heat-sensitive skin treatments (e.g., laser)

Consult your GP first if you:

Have cardiovascular issues (hypertension, arrhythmias, heart disease, or are on heart medication)
Have diabetes or blood sugar regulation issues
Have low blood pressure or tend to feel faint
Have a medical implant (pacemaker, metal implants – usually fine but best to confirm)
Take medications that impair sweating or cause heat sensitivity
